Hiking Podcast
Channel Islands National Park
Hiking Podcast creators Allison M Keating and Justin Asher go on an adventure to the Channel Islands National Park. Established as a National Monument in 1938 and a National Park in 1980, these islands have over 12,000 years of human history and are a true testament to the success of the National Park System’s conservation and rehabilitation efforts. The adventure begins in Ventura to board the Island Packers ferry to Anacapa Island, the most rugged of the islands. Dolphins and whales may be spotted, spectacular ocean views and vistas, ravines and forests, wildflowers and bugs. Listen to Justin and Allison as they lead you through isolated terrain, reciting poetry and stories, callings to Sirens, mermaid spottings, birding, underwater music making and more. There may also be pirates.
